Biographie

French Mezzosoprano, Géraldine Chauvet studied musicology at the Tours University and vocal studies at the Colmar Opera studio (Opéra National du Rhin). She continued her studies with Udo Reinemann, Grace Bumbry and Brigitte Fassbaender.

On Stage she sang Adalgisa (Norma) at the Bologna's Comunale Theater and in Taormina, Donna Anna (Pacini’s Don Giovanni) at the Wildbad Opera Festival, Carmen in Modena Ravenna, Verona (under the baton of Placido Domingo), Naples, Whashington, Charlotte (Werther) opposite Giuseppe Filianoti, Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni) at the Avenches Festival, Verona, Innsbruck, Dalila (Samson et Dalila) at the Seoul Opera Festival, Marie de l’Incarnation (Dialogues des Carmelites) in Massy and Bordeaux, Adriano (Rienzi) in New York and in Toulouse, Fenena (Nabucco) at the Washington Kennedy Center and at the Staatsoper Hamburg , Sesto (Clemenza di Tito) and Nicklausse (Tales of Hoffmann) at the New York Metropolitan Opera, Kostelnichka (Jenufa) in Avignon, Rosina (Barbiere di Siviglia) in Beijing, Naples, Oman, Sara (Roberto Devereux) at Carnegie Hall, Franziska Kann (Dalbavie’s Charlotte Salomon) at the Salzburg Festival, Gertrude (Thomas's Hamlet) in Avignon, Laura (Gioconda) at the Teatro Municipal de Santiago de Chile.

In concert, she sang Juliette (Berlioz’s Romeo et Juliette) in Amsterdam, Verdi’s Requiem in Washington, Malher n.2 in Genova)

More recently she sang Carmen and in a Placido Domingo Gala at the Verona Arena, Giulietta (Tales of Hoffmann) in Lausanne, Rosina (Il Barbiere di Siviglia) in Catane, Marie (Moïse et Pharaon) at the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence and at the Opéra National de Lyon, Hedwige (Guillaume Tell) at the Scala of Milan.
